Television & Music

Apple TV w/remote

ChromeCast w/remote

Nest Home Hub

*Use the TV remote to select the input channel noted on the remote

*Yes, there is a VCR / DVD player but no tapes or DVDs

*Don't forget to log out of any accounts you add!

*I do not think you will be able to charge purchases to my accounts, but if that happens somehow, I'll be sure to send you a reimbursement request :-)

Blinds

The blinds on the windows throughout the house open from both the bottom and top. Please use the plastic tabs on each end of the blinds to open/close.

Use the bar attached to the vertical blinds for the sliding doors. Left to right in the living room, center out in the bedrooms.

Note: Use the remote for the king bathroom blinds.

Games

The cabinets and drawers in the living room have games, puzzles and coloring supplies

Fitness

There is a set of 8lb dumbbells in the laundry room. There is a yoga set in the queen room (mat, blocks, strap), and a bolster and zafu in either the queen or king room. (It is possible these get moved around!)

Air Conditioning

The air conditioning (ductless split unit) should be set on 75 in the main living area when you arrive. Please adjust to your preference. It is likely on 'Auto' which means it will toggle between cool and warm based on the inside temperature. I often turn it off at night so I don't wake up to the heat being on! You can also switch it to 'Cool' to avoid this.

Computer Stuff

There are 2 monitors in the Queen Room closet. You are welcome to use them! Please pay attention to unboxing so you can rebox before you leave, maybe take photos - they are tricky!

In one of the living room drawers, you will find:

There is also an adjustable laptop table in the king room closet.

kitchen and laundry

Kitchen

Help yourself to any food or beverages available, seriously... anything left out is for sharing. It will likely expire if not used up!

Appliances are in the cabinets, so if not seeing some that you need out, look around! (e.g. blender, can opener, Keurig coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, etc.).

Please only take disposable plasticware (e.g. gladware, ziploc plastic containers) and utensils to the beach.

Some cleaning supplies and dishwashing detergent are under the kitchen sink.

One of the drawers has ~10 childproofing devices for cabinet doors (no guarantees, please assess and protect your children - the house is not childproof!)

*given the tropical environment, you may see tiny ants in the kitchen, the electronic device plugged into the island should help (keep on blue setting), what helps most is not leaving food on the counter or sinks and keeping snacks sealed in the airtight containers

Trash

Trash comes once a week on Thursday mornings, if staying more than a week, please collect the trash in the house and put it all in a large, black trash bag (lower cabinet in the kitchen to the right of the sink), and place it at the end of the driveway on the seat cutout in the rock wall Wednesday evening (thank you!).

If you need to take trash out before Wednesday, put it all in a large, black trash bag and place it inside the trash bin behind the house. You can wheel this down to the curb on Wednesday evening, place the bags in the seat cutout, and put it back behind the house. Do not leave it out overnight at the curb, as we have HIGH winds!

*No recycling available with trash pick up, if you want to recycle you can separate out cardboard, cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles in paper bags, and drive it to the local transfer station in Puako at Puako Beach Drive & Old Puako Road (open Sunday, Tuesday, Friday 6am to 6pm,  Google Maps link, not on Apple Maps but I have requested it be added!)

Laundry

The appliances are shiny new and work great! You will find detergent in the cabinet above the utility sink.

Additional cleaning supplies are in here, in the upper cabinets. A cordless vacuum is hanging on the wall, as is a broom and Swiffer mop.  (Swiffer wet pads in upper cabinet or under the sink)

Also in here: bags to take shopping, bags to take to the beach and beach towels (regular and quick drying).

You can take the drying rack to the front porch and place it in the corner by the front door, should be safe from wind there! (please collapse and return to laundry room before leaving)
